The color black seems to always have a bad connotation as it's often associated with darkness or grim.
Yet, it's still a very popular color! (If you call it a color) In terms of psychology, choosing the color black is not a bad trait.
I mean, think about it, black is often associated as sexy!
There is a certain psychological interpretation to colors and how it affects our human brain.

The main personality trait of those who choose black as their color tends to enjoy prestige and power as well. These people are often artistic and sensitive. But very independent and strong-willed individuals that like to be in control of themselves and their surroundings. While these people aren't introverts, they are careful with the details of their lives and do not share easily with others to avoid showing weakness.
The sexy trait about people with this type of personality is that they want to give the appearance of mystery, but their preference may also indicate a suppression of desires and worldly aims, suggesting hidden depths and inner longings.
This is trait usually comes with a sense of style as well. Think of your men in black or women in suits. Usually by high ranking executives or business people. It is confident, professional and is suitable in many settings.
To keep a balance, it's best to bring in different "colors" in your life and weigh out your weaknesses.
Having a color personality of black entails non-emotional traits and gives the individual an appearance of a dignified and sophisticated person who is in total control. Usually career traits of high corporate executives, high powered attorneys, club owners, actors/actresses, entrepreneurs and so on. They like to keep people at a distance, guarding their emotions and creating an impenetrable barrier between yourself and others.
These types of people have the ability to achieve success but always crave more for fulfillment. Yet, no matter how much they are able to obtain, there is always a sense of emptiness and therefore on a constant search for themselves.
People envy their status, their lifestyle and what they have. They love the attention, yet they always feel something is still missing. This is why it's best for people with this trait to balance themselves with other colorful people. Keep in mind, their dominant trait maybe black, but it does not represent them as a whole.

I see a lot of things that are dead on as far as personality goes, I love black cars with a passion and even more if they have a lot of chrome ( I always joke around saying that my two favorite colors are black and chrome) as far as my dress goes I always pick my black suit first but I love to contrast it with a color shirt and tie that has a little pop to it like purple but nothing that is to bold, other than that I like white “T” shirts or grey and some other colors but never do I wear red, yellow, orange or green because feel it stands out to much and it lacks as far as having the well groomed and classy look, they tend to have more of a cartoon look. When it comes to other things like my phone, shoes, coats, and even my car interior I want back because it dose give it more of a classy, expensive, well groomed look. I also like cars with tinted windows for that mysterious look, I thing it gives a sense of power when no one knows what or who lurks behind the windows

Greetings…I have loved black since I was little…black apparel, black nails, smokey eye make-up, black furniture, black appliances, black car…I’d say about 85% of the article does ring true for me, but moreso I’d also say too that when one wears so much black, whenever one wears little accessories ie bright shoes, it indeed causes that much more “pop” in contrast, and I love that too!! I am not only a germaphobe, I’m also OCP (obsessive-compulsive personality) and I do require control of myself & my environment (not other people, to be clear), this tendency reduces my anxiety. I often come across quite aloof & emotionally detached, cold & clinical, I don’t believe in putting myself WAY out there, especially with strangers (trust must be earned, of course, not freely given), however I am also a very loyal & protective friend, once friendship is formed &, again, earned. Black is professional, sophisticated, luxurious, dignified, and does indeed create an aura of mystery to those lucky enough to interact with one exuding such confidence, which the tint indeed imbues upon it’s wearers. Givenchy, Tom Ford for Gucci (c. 1990s), Chanel, all haute couture houses utilizing such a tint to induce power, influence, subtlety & grace, all the while also invisibly setting borders & boundaries for those of us wishing to observe from a distance.
You don’t have to understand us, nor do we want to be understood…simply embrace the implied wisdom & strong will, independence & confidence, just as we may embrace your positive traits.

Years ago I was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive personality, not disorder. I saw it in my medical records but ignored it. When I finally realized my life wasn’t working like normal peoples I looked into it. Once I learned about it, admitted I had it, and worked to mitigate the effects of it on my life, everything has changed for the better.
Yes I had been wearing black, wearing colors made me anxious that things didn’t match. It becomes a uniform and easy to dress in the morning. But it also says I am emotionally numb, a loner, and just better and I keep to myself always. My relationships are easily controllable, to bartenders where I can leave when I want, and online where I can be king. If you notice around you there are thousands of us walking around in our all black, always alone, never smiling, never even saying hello, or excuse me, and we don’t care if we are late. We hurt others without even knowing, or caring, and when they complain we have no idea what they are talking about.
But these are not personality traits, they are symptoms of a mental disorder that is ruining your life, you just can’t admit it, and you may never. But you will wind up living alone, if full control of everything, in your germophobe house, and your books, and die without ever knowing what real emotion is.

I hate my job so I only wear black when I am there including my boxers and a special order of black ear plugs (its a noisy place). I also have my own black cloud and a sour disposition to accessorize the entire outfit. The rest of the time I wear bright cheerful colors. Yes I have tried to find a better job with no success.
