MIKOL's Story of Enjoying The Finer Things in Life

Are you someone that talks about the finer things in life?

These are the things that most people talk about when they are speaking of something of high quality. As a matter of fact, most of the time what propels people to pursue success, particularly financial success, is the desire to participate in the finer things in life.  Of course there is much more, but lets generalize for now.

Let’s face it, increased finances enable us to have more options in life and enjoy things most people are unable to.  And of course, we should consider that a blessing.

Who can argue the beauty of fine living? Who doesn’t love the smell and feel of new leather furniture? Who doesn’t enjoy driving an exotic or luxury automobile?  Who doesn’t like a nice watch that can be passed on to your son or daughter someday? Or live in your dream home, with a beautiful pool and yard.  All of these are common symbols of the finer things in life, and indeed they are.

Most of us have gone through the poor student life.  And after a few years of hard work in our later twenties, we slowly appreciate and enjoy the finer things in life as our careers climb.  Whether it's more travel, luxury hotels, wine, fashion accessories, cars, etc.

While pursuing the finer things in life, we often become so engrained, so focused in the pursuit, and end up following what society tells us what the finer things in life is.  

Is something finer, more luxurious just because it's expensive or a name brand?

You are probably thinking, no! Yet, most of us fall into this trap.

Look at the luxury goods world.  There are so many brands and designers to choose from.  Most of the world has become much more comfortable than we were 50 years ago, so these luxury items have become more common.

And that's where the MIKOL story begins.  At MIKOL, we all enjoy the finer things in life, but the market was so saturated and almost everyone around us that could afford luxury goods bought the same items! We wanted style, luxury appeal, but also to be different than the person next to us! We wanted to created something completely different.  Never has there been a true marble fashion brand.  Just because the technology wouldn't allow it! Marble was too darn heavy!  Once we solved the issue of weight and fragility of the marble stone, the designs came naturally to our design team.  

What's worked well for us is feedback from customers and hearing what they want.  Instead of building products, we strive to build a community of like minded people to share this passion and enthusiasm with.  And it's not just with marble fashion accessory products, but the idea of having a nice luxury product that is different, something that will always be unique.
