10 Simple Fashion Tips For Men
Being a lifestyle photographer, my job enables me to travel around the world. My adventures have allowed me to witness many different fashion styles from various cultures and parts of the world.
There are your cultural styles which may seem strange to outsiders, but that's more of a cultural factor. Then there are countries who try to embrace modern day fashion by just buying big name brands. The problem is they lack the "fashion sense" and end up mismatching their outfits. It usually screams "I'm wearing this brand name so I'm stylish". Big no no.
Men’s fashion (at least for average men) should be really safe and easy. There are only a few basic rules to go by unless you're a fashion guru.
Here are a few simple tips to follow to avoid being someone else's next snapchat feature.
1. Blank t-shirts
You can't go wrong with a basic blank t-shirt! The number of men who don’t realize that simple fact is tremendous. It's pretty hard to screw up a blank shirt and jeans. If you are just starting off, go with a well fitted blank shirt.
2. Advance T-shirt Game
If you want to be a bit more adventurous, and receive a little more attention. Up your T-shirt game with brighter vibrant colors. (Don't overdo it though! You aren't a celebrity)
Slowly move up the latter with striped, some cool prints, maybe ripped a little. Again, jeans and khakis are always a safe choice to match these shirts.
3. Dress Shirts
There are sooooo many nice dress shirt styles out there. Since we are only focusing on the basics, let's stick to the simple clean cut styles. Finding simple mens tall shirts that can be combined with a variety of bottoms is key. White, black, and blue are safe choices that can be easily dressed up or down for any occasion.
If you want to appear more proper, tuck your shirt in with a nice skinny tie or bow tie. Tie clips add a nice touch in making you look more classy.
If it's a more casual environment say a lounge or networking event. Feel free to untuck your dress shirt and roll up your sleeves a little. Or if you still want to stay classy but appear casual, add a nice set of cufflinks into the mix. People will notice when you hold up your drink or shake their hands. Atleast fashionable people notice these little details.
4. No prints on your jeans.
If you're reading this, you aren't in your teens nor Justin Bieber. Try to stay away from printed denim jeans. Little ripped up and what now is ok since that's in right now. But unless you know what you're doing, or you are just so far out there, let's keep it a tad bit simpler with the jeans.
